Watch the NFC Wild Card Game in 4K this Saturday (kinda)

That’s right, football. At this point you’re definitely in one of two camps. You either have been glad to have football in your life for the last 3 months or so, or you’ve been so busy with other things in the world that you forgot that football exists. Either way, the post-season’s here now. Whether or not you were interested before, it’s time to get interested. Because it’s about to get REAL.

NFC Wild Card

This year’s Wild Card game comes down to the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. Both teams have a nationwide following, and the Rams are a bit of a success story, having really stepped up their game since moving back to Los Angeles. It’s going to be a great game.

The Wild Card game is going to broadcast on DIRECTV’s 4K channel 105. As always you’ll need a Genie and a 4K client to watch. The game follows the trend we saw throughout last year where it’s produced in 1080p and then upscaled on site to 4K. This still isn’t “true” 4K but as we saw with Major League Baseball it’s a much improved experience over what you’ll get from your local broadcast Fox station. Now if only the talent in the booth could get a similar upgrade… but that’s another story altogether.

There’s still no word if the Super Bowl will be in true 4K or this same upscaled 4K but we’ll get what we get and to be honest it’s going to be hard to tell the difference unless you have a 70″ or larger TV.

Aren’t you tired of…

If you’re an avid blog reader, you probably see a lot of articles like this one where we talk about 4K. Isn’t it time you got on the bandwagon? Chances are you already have a 4K TV and have been streaming in low-quality 4K for a while. How about seeing what real 4K looks like?

You can upgrade your DIRECTV service by yourself or have a technician come out and do it safely for you. You’ll need a Genie DVR, a reverse-band capable dish, and a 4K Genie Mini client. Of course you can get all of these things from Solid Signal, and you’ll get all the tutorials you’ll need to do it yourself and customize your system the way you want it.

The best way to get all of it done is to call our technicians at 888-233-7563. No one handles more 4K upgrades than Solid Signal. We have access to the same computer systems that AT&T uses. Even better, we’ll answer the phone when you call. You’ll get a real technician, not a “script jockey.” Our people know what they’re doing and they’re ready to help!

So give us a call now! If it’s after East Coast office hours, fill out the form below. One of the techs in our 100% US-based call center will get back to you, usually within one business day.
